Rajsamand Lake

Why to visit?
  • The initiative to dig this artificial lake was taken by Maharana Raj Singh in 1660.
  • The lake can be accessed using 9 marble ‘ghats’ embellished with exquite carvings  & mesmarizing pictures of  Sun, chariots, gods & birds.
  • A detailed inscription in the embankment of the lake depicts the history of Mewar.
  • It was used as a seaplane base during World war II.
  • Rajsamand is the biggest marble producing unit of the country.
  • Best place to spend quality time during sunset.
