Mani Parbat

Why to visit?
  • Mentioned in Ramayana that Lord Hanuman uprooted mountain containing Sanjeevni booti to treat Lakshmana and a part of it fell at Ayodhya.
  • This mound/hillock is known as Mani Parbat - Home to a host of shrines
  • Another mound close to it called Sugriva Parbat.
  • Spectacular view of Ayodhya from top of Mani Parbat.
  • An ancient Buddhist monastery, Stupa (built by Emperor Ashoka) located close to it.
